The land reclamation project for developing a fish processing factory is officially inaugurated in GDh. Fiyoaree.

Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef inaugurated the land reclamation project for developing a fish processing factory in GDh. Fiyoaree today.
The project has been enhanced from its original plan. The revised design doubles the cold storage capacity from the previously planned 1,500 metric tonnes to 3,000 metric tonnes. The upgraded plan also includes the establishment of a tuna processing facility capable of handling 100 tonnes per day, along with a fishmeal plant producing 100 tonnes per day.
This development is expected to improve the livelihoods of fishermen and their families in GDh. Fiyoaree, as well as across the atoll. Once the factory becomes operational, it will create employment opportunities for residents throughout the atoll.
The Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef was joined at the ceremony by the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Ahmed Shiyam; the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Dr Abdullah Muththalib; and Ashraf Rasheed, Member of Parliament for the Faresmaathodaa Constituency. Additionally, the Ministry was represented by State Minister Mohamed Mutthalib, State Minister Dr Amzath Ahmed, and other senior staff.
