Minister Ahmed Shiyam Witnesses Signing of Maldives - China MoU to Strengthen Cooperation in Sustainable Aquaculture and Marine Resource Management in Maldives.

Minister Ahmed Shiyam witnessed the signing of Aquaculture and Marine Resource Management between the Maldives and China. The signing ceremony was held in Xiamen, Chin.

The Maldives Marine Research Institute (MMRI), Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Republic of Maldives, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Fisheries Research Institute of Fujian, People’s Republic of China.

Mohamed Shimaal, Director General of the Maldives Marine Research Institute, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the Government of Maldives.

This MoU aims to strengthen strategic cooperation between two countries, focusing on research in sustainable aquaculture and marine resource management by jointly developing innovative and environmentally friendly aquaculture technologies, and promoting the sustainable management of the Ocean.
